art project using film strips?
I don't know what I want to do.
I want ot try making a family tree with the brown film strips cut into squares and they have family/people pictures but I don't know how to make it. I was thinking of using wire for the branches and tie the wire through the squares of film. I already have a small bowl/vase thing to fill dirt with for the 'roots' area but should I use the wire? Or get real branches? Or anything else?
If I don't do the family tree, what else can I make with the film strips? The teacher also gave us the little plastic squares that held the squares. They were photography squares of people artwork from the previous years?
Can anyone help me please? I need more ideas and I can't think of anything else. People have already taken a lot of ideas like skyscrapers out of film, lighthouses, etc. HELP!
Go to a craft store that has plastic flower arranging material. They will have special wires wrapped in strips of green and brown tape that simulate small branches and stems of their arrangements. You can also buy bare wire and rolls of that textured tape.
You can build a nice, realistic looking tree and shape it to suit your need. You can use a mix of real bush and artificial parts.
I think the little plastic squares the teacher is making available are photo slide frames. With a little planing and imagination, you can wrap some of this wire around the edges and corners of these frames to make them appear as if they are growing out of the tree in a natural way. You can even place leaves and/or flower petals around the photo frames.
