Urgent, Help Poetry How can I improve this poem?

Need to make adjustments to this poem. Please Note that any report inadequate response and this is my first poem. Far to the end of the earth. is the colossal structure created by man. The lighthouse stands like a fortress on the steep rocks. evening, the proximity switches. The light starts to flash. It sends a beam to warn those who venture near their coasts. Candles start out of the darkness in the turbulent waters, in the light into account. The light changes on the ship if it is detected. The ships sail into the light.

well, I think it starts as a poem and begins to try to tell a story, and if it is a story I would like to explain why the ship sailed towards the lights, hmmmm not know but not poetry is what they do and know what to do if that's what we know already that sounds good to me just a little confused lol
