Jokes about Military - Canadian Relations.?

haha thought you guys would like this one comin from a Canuck.

2. This is the transcript on an ACTUAL radio conversation of a US Naval ship with Canadian authorities off the coast of Newfoundland in October, 1995. Radio conversation released by the Chief of Naval Operations 10 - 10 - 95.

Americans: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the North to avoid a collision.
Canadians: Recommend you divert YOUR course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision.
Americans: This is the Captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.
Canadians: No. I say again you divert YOUR course.
Americans: THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS LINCOLN, THE SECOND LARGEST SHIP IN THE UNITED STATES` ATLANTIC FLEET. WE ARE ACCOMPANIED BY THREE DESTROYERS, THREE CRUISERS AND NUMEROUS SUPPORT VESSELS. I DEMAND THAT YOU CHANGE YOUR MEASURES WILL BE UNDERTAKEN TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THIS SHIP.
Canadians: This is a lighthouse. Your call.

I KNOW it's not true, it's a joke.

Edit: Didn't realize this was a joke. It really is pretty funny though, thanks for posting lol.

Original Post:
This is... funny but completely untrue for multiple reasons

1. A Captain of an aircraft carrier would never get on the radio over something so minuscule as an inbound ship in their transit.
2. The USS Abraham Lincoln is not the second largest ship in the "Atlantic" fleet, it is actually part of the Nimitz class of which all ships are exactly identical in every single way.
3. There is no "Atlantic" fleet... The name of the fleet for the northern Atlantic ocean is the Second Fleet. And the USS Lincoln is in fact the flagship of the Third Fleet based in the Pacific ocean.
4. The USS Lincoln is never in the Atlantic ocean, it's home base is in Washington state.
5. The number and type of vessels that are in a carrier battle group are never divulged over the radio, this follows strict DOD policy of never revealing your strength or weakness' over unsecured airwaves.
6. There are never more then 1 or 2 cruisers in a battle group there are only 22 active cruisers in the US Navy, and a single one is dominant enough to protect a complete battle group. The Navy has, since the early 1990's been committed to having at most only 2 (never 3) cruisers with a battle group at a time.

Check out this link I found for a further debunking.
