Lighthouse model tips?
My sister is currently working on a project requiring her to make a model of a famous lighthouse.
We've decided to help her make Cape Henlopen - but we have no idea on how to get the materials to actually construct it.
We've already tried the local art supply stores (Tall Mouse, Michaels, etc.) and haven't found much that seem useful.
So uhm. Does anyone have any idea where we can purchase the materials? Or anything that we can use to build one? We live near the Los Angeles area in CA if that helps any. ._.

start with a platform, heavy cardboard, check recycling and stores with old boxes to use, create a frame work with card board, a hill side, and top area, the cut out sides of lighthouse, tape together, create a top platform for lighthouse,
get some old clear plastic containers, cut out pieces for light area, use clear tape to hold together, check dollar stores for and flashing light toy or key chain light to put in light house, create roof for lighthouse thats removable to turn light on,
...then create house, basically make four sides cut out and paint white, and drawn in windows, make a roof, and veranda out of popsicle sticks and toothpicks,, if none at dollar store, use card board, cut out and glue in place, now you can add paper mache on both as an option,

and paint white and red areas, or just paint as is, using acrylic craft paints or water based paints, with platform, may be best to create paper mache layer and paint sand brown and top area green, then glue and tape lighthouse and house on platform
check craft stores and dollar stores for add on trinkets,
don't wait till last minute, start now, and have time to add extras, like people, and even water around frame if time,
