Need help identifying a lighthouse painting?
The painting is very dark and the color palette is composed primarily of reds to blacks. The light house is in the top left on a cliff taking up about an eighth of the painting, and there are several people in the foreground. The people are on an island I believe and there is some sort of body of water at the base of the cliff (a river I believe, not an ocean). The painting is an oil painting and for some reason I want to say it's a Monet, even though I am 95% certain it's not and it doesn't much resemble his style. The work is of some merit because I have seen it several times including an art exhibit and was quite intrigued by it. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Not too easy, Davis, your question. There are hundred thousands of paintings, and many of lighthouses.
You didn't see a signature when you saw it at that art exhibit?
You might find it by using a search machine, using "painting" and "Lighthouse" as subject, while searching in category "pictures".
Anyway it doesn't ring a bell with me.
