Would love to drive down the Outer Banks?
I would love to take a road trip down the outer banks. Does anyone have any suggestions on how long of a trip this should be? Where to stay? Where to eat? Some favorite spots and lighthouses along the way? Points of Interest?
I think you will want a week minimum to fully enjoy the Outer Banks. Here is a link to sightseeing attractions: http://www.outer-banks-revealed.com/outer-banks-sightseeing.html . It will also give you information on each of the lighthouses. Currituck and Cape Hatteras are the two Lighthouses You Can Climb to the top of to get some spectacular views. As far as where to stay, what are your interest? If you like shopping, nightlife, and so forth, than the northern end of the island (Nags Head and north) is where you want to stay. If you are more into privacy and water sports (surfing, wind surfing, etc.), you will want to stay on Hatteras Island.
