Jazminda lay restlessly in her bed, listening to the scratching the old sycamore tree branches were making against the bedroom window as the tail end of the storm gave its final gust before the night calm. Mac her heavily built husband lay peacefully his chest rising and falling steadily three times to each flash that lit the room from the old lighthouse off scraggy point. Her mind full of the two strangers in the village earlier that day now preventing her sleeping. Suddenly the sound of horses could be heard galloping closer. ‘Mac Mac’ Jazminda screamed but…
i'm so impressed with the diversity and imagination out there one had me laughing too much but please write only the 2nd paragraph (steven k) can't wait for more thanks for joining in!
...her voice was muffled by the door as it burst open at the foot of a heavily cloaked stranger. Jazminda let out a scream of terror and shuffled to the other side of her bed, as if to rely on Mac for protection. Mac angrily rose and prepared to face the figure, who, with an ungodly ease, swung a wooden rod to the man's head, driving his body into the wall. Jazminda became petrified as her eyes lay upon Mac's broken body, unable to tell if he still gave breathe, and did not notice the cloaked man inching closer. The second Jazminda turned her head, she was swooped up into the man's arms and pulled from the room, her screams still echoing within the room, as if they could somehow save her. Outside, upon the rain soaked and misty lawn that led to the small house, was a large, black, horse, its coat gleaming from the rain, who was visibly ready for a long journey. Jazminda was hauled unto the horse, and within seconds it began a swift gallop. Jazminda turned her head in panic and saw another horse, this one with a smooth bay coat, and another shadowy figure on its back. Jazminda's head was racing with thoughts, but she hadn't the slightest clue what was going on. Who could want her, a simple towns-person? The moon was rising steadily, night was approaching, and a long one it seemed. Only time could chart their destination now.
I hope you enjoyed that, and I hope you consider choosing me! I'd love to contribute.
