In the USA, is it possible to own a lighthouse home?
I know that the US Coast Guard now maintains lighthouses, but I've seen the movie Yours Mine And Ours and the Bank of America commercial and it looks like you can actually own and live in a working(?) one with your family etc just like your everyday house. Is this possible? Are you actually responsible for "keeping" the light? Where can I get additional info on the subject?

Yes you can. Many were converted to private ownership as the need for lighthouses disipated. Since they are rare and desirable, lighthouses come with a hefty price tag.
There was an upscale auction house that specialized in unique properties, such as lighthouses. I want to say it was Christies, but I am not certain of that. I am sure you can find the information from Google.
