Obsolete military jobs that you would like to try.?
When I was stationed in San Diego I talked with a guy at the hospital who was one hundred years old (and looked like he could pass for 60). His job had been ship's carpenter.
I was wondering if anyone who has served would have liked to try out a job that was gone by the time they came in. I would have liked to do a tour as a lighthouse keeper(even though that wasn't USCG in the strictest sense) or coastal gunner.
I know a guy here in San Diego who was part of the regular Navy crew on the USS Constitution in the 1930's when it sailed around the country. That would be kind of neat being a crew member on Old Ironsides. Think of the obsolescence there. Good luck to you
