Which one of these books is the best, in your opinion?
I'm deciding what to read next out of the books I've accumulated. The options are:
Northanger Abbey- Jane Austen
The Age of Innocence- Edith Wharton
The Portable Dorothy Parker- Parker
Love in the Time of Cholera- Gabriel Garcia Marquez
A Gathering of Old Men- Ernest J. Gaines
Three Cups of Tea- Mortenson and Relin
We Were the Mulvaneys- Joyce Carol Oates
To the Lighthouse- Virginia Woolf
Bel Canto- Ann Patchett
A Confederacy of Dunces- John Kennedy Toole
I Am A Strange Loop- Hofstadter
I know, I know. It's quite the collection. I'll read them all eventually, but I'd appreciate any recommendation of what to read next.
I really loved A Confederacy of Dunces. It kept me rolling. One of the funniest books i've ever read.

To the Lighthouse is at once a vivid impressionist depiction of a family holiday, and a meditation on a marriage, on parenthood and childhood, on grief, tyranny and bitterness. Its use of stream of consciousness, reminiscence and shifting perspectives gives the novel an intimate, poetic essence, and at the time of publication in 1927 it represented an utter rejection of Victorian and Edwardian literary values. |
