Are there any lighthouses along the TX Gulf coast?
I grew up in New England where they were everywhere & I've seen them in California but never heard of any in TX. Any1 know any lighthouses?
Several: Point Bolivar (across from Galveston on the ferry), Matagorda Island, Sabine Pass (where the Sabine River meets the Gulf) and Aransas Pass (near Corpus Christi), just to name a few.
The Matagorda one used to be only accessible by private boat, but they may have brought back the state park ferry service. I've been to the Port Bolivar one, and you can pretty much walk up to it, but can't go up.
