Camping near oregon sand dunes - where to camp?
I will be visiting the Dunes in August and from what research I have done it seems that the 2 campsites I am looking at are Jessie M. Honeyman Memorial and Umpaqua Lighthouse State Park. They are both very different, one is near florence and the other is near reedsport. Which one would any suggest or do you have a better suggestion..
Umpaqua Lighthouse State Park is my choice! Mainly because it is in the middle of the sand dunes!And it's not as crowded as the other parks!
Here is a complete listing of State Parks in Oregon.Note: If you are going to be using the showers at the park,find one that has the heated floors in the shower!It's quite chilly in the early morning hours along the coast!
