Further along the coast you will find El Oasis and the remains of a sea water lagoon bordered with palm trees – look out for the rare species of migratory birds stopping off en route to Africa. If you fancy soaking up some history, the Faro de Maspalomas lighthouse guides hundreds of ships safely to port. Built in the late 1800’s and towering 65 metres over the sea, it’s a dominating sight and well worth a visit.
Due to the diversity of the climate and landscape Gran Canaria is nicknamed the “miniature continent”. Puerto Rico is known as the sunniest spot on the island making the resort a true paradise for those needing to unwind in the glorious Spanish sunshine.
