A light-house keeper is 150m above sea-level when he sees a small boat due South at an angle of depression of 11 degrees. Due East of the lighthouse he spots a great white shark at an angle of depression of 17 degrees.
Find the distance between the small boat and the great white shark. Any help greatly appreciated.
don't you draw 2 triangles with one the height as 150 and the angles 11 and 17. then do sin(11)=x/150 to solve for one base and sin (17)=y/150 for the other base. then just do x+y to get the disstance
