North Carolina Beaches...waiting to greet you

Atlantic Beach, located in the middle of the NC coast, is one of the best destinations for vacations, offering plenty of choices regarding restaurants, night clubs and bars, family attractions, and more. It has a clean sandy stretch where you can relish swimming and fishing. For scuba diving lovers, it is the best place to be as the water conditions are perfect for diving. The nearby Gulf Stream makes the water warm and clear, which provides Caribbean style diving with tropical conditions and marine life. Wrecks along the Atlantic bottom due to the shallow shoals offer fine scuba diving experience.
Experience the laid-back modes of transportation in Bald Head Island. Common modes of travel are golf-carts, bicycles, skates or on foot. Just roam around and enjoy the wildlife and scenery. Experience life at a slow and leisurely pace. Golfers will love the challenging 18-hole championship course at the beautiful Bald Head Island Club. Besides golf, it also boasts a nice swimming pool, a fitness center, four tennis courts, croquet grounds, and a wonderful dining room and lounge. There is no chance of getting bored even after sunset. For late evening experience, you can head out with your group of friends to look for and learn about alligators, bats, frogs, and other interesting creatures.
Cape Hatteras is one of the most popular spots, located along the Atlantic coast and along the Outer Banks. It is a perfect spot for fishing, as the meeting of the warm Gulf Stream and the cold Labrador currents creates a hotspot for different types of fish. Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is the tallest brick beacon in the country standing at approximately 208 feet. You can climb to the top of the lighthouse for a spectacular view of the national seashore which gives you an overall exciting experience. It is also a great place for camping.
Carolina Beach bustles with a lot of activities. You can do surfing, body-boarding, kayaking and boating; camping, hiking biking and fishing or just stroll along the Carolina Beach Boardwalk, where shops and food establishments are plentiful. You can relish a wide range of cuisines here. Dancing to beach music is another favorite activity. There are many places that offer a unique blend of musical styles from the 40s, 50s and 60s the will draw you out to the dance floor.
If you are one of those who like to spend time in peace, collect seashells and feel the light breeze, then Sunset Beach is the perfect place. It is quiet and calm, clean, wide but not too large, with pristine sand dunes providing refuge for native wildlife, such as wood storks and loggerhead sea turtles. Sunset as well as sunrise can be enjoyed on the beach as it runs east to west. It is perfect for spending a leisurely time and enjoying a drink at a Sunset Beach bar as day gives way to night. Ocean Isle Beach also provides with excellent sunrise and sunset view.
Other beaches in NC are also uniformly ideal for vacations. Kure Beach is the best beach for travelers looking for a relatively quiet place. Nag Heads, Outer Banks is the best place to get the photographic view of majestic looking horses. It is one of the few places where horses still run freely. There are three distinct herds – the Shackelford ponies on the Shackelford Banks near Cape Lookout; the Ocracoke ponies just south of the Hatteras ferry landing; and the wild horses of Corolla near the Virginia border.
