Texas Lighthouses

Family Vacation?

I'm trying to decide between Hurricane Harbor-Arlington, Sea World-San Antonio, Schlitterbahn-New Braunfels, Corpus Christi-Texas Aquarium & beach or South Padre Island--for the beaches & lighthouse. Does anyone know about camping on the beach in the Padre Island National Seashore or Area nearby? There will be 4 of us, me & my dh, our 12 year old and our 3 year old. We went to SeaWorld two years ago and had fun, has it changed any? Of all these places, which one has the coolest, nicest weather in mid-August?

I was just in South Padre Island less a month ago and it was fabulous. It would be veryvery HOT in the summer though. But, i've also been to the Dominican Republic and I loved it even more!! so, it's just a suggestion, but the best place for a vaction, i think, is in Iberostar Dominicana Hotel in Punta Cana, Dominican. (a little off your question, but hope it helps) <3
