Shutter Island - Is this the Alternate Ending?
At the end of the film, the twist is that Andrew was his own enemy...Laetus. What would be your thoughts on the alternate ending going something like this....
The film is exactly the same up until the part where they are both sat on the step at the end, but instead...
Andrew and his partner go back to the original idea... They need to get out as they will try and turn them into patients...and that the scene at the lighthouse was Andrew playing along temporarily?
According to my mom the book left the ending much more ambiguous and the reader wasn't really sure if Andrew was insane or not.
